Best Party Ever
So what makes a great party? Sure great decorations, delicious food and amazing cocktails are the ingredients, but there are three things that will ensure your party is The Best Party Ever.
Start with the reason. So whether you are celebrating a person, a season or a milestone event, the reason for the party will help determine all the elements.
Next pick a theme. Your theme will help determine the perfect location, your color scheme, invitations, decor, music, activities, food & beverage.
Be sure to have continuity. Treat your party as if it were a brand. Be consistent with your brand message and carry your reason and theme through to every element.

Soul Style Discovery of the Week:
To help celebrate National Cocktail Day on March 24, we have two of our favorite cocktail recipes for you to try.
Simple Syrup
ingredients
1 cup water
1 cup sugar
peel from 1 orange cut in strips
directions
Bring water, sugar and orange peels to a simmer in a small saucepan. Simmer till sugar is completely dissolved, around 4 minutes. Set aside to cool and then strain into a lidded jar and store in the refrigerator for up to a week.
Old Fashioned
ingredients
1/2 oz. orange simple syrup
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 oz. bourbon
orange peel for garnish
directions
Add simple syrup, bitters and bourbon to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake vigorously while listening to some Frank Sinatra. Pour into an ice filled highball glass and top with an orange peel. Chef’s kiss!
Sangria
ingredients
1 bottle red wine (use your favorite, but we like a nice Grenache or Pinot Noir)
1/2 cup liquor (again go with what you like, but I would suggest brandy or dark rum; and 1/2 cup is merely a suggestion, you do you)
2 peaches sliced (or any in season fruit; plums & apples would also be delicious)
1 lemon sliced
2 TBSP sugar, or to taste
sparkling water
directions
In a large pitcher, mix the wine and liquor. Add the fruit, lemon slices and sugar to taste (or leave out entirely). Put in the refrigerator for at least a few hours, or overnight. Pour over ice, making sure to get a piece or two of fruit in each glass. Top with sparkling water and a fresh fruit slice.
Enjoy!
