Episode 19 - We Talk Houseplants with Sumiko Sprague of Knotty Little Plants

Show Notes:

In this episode, we talk with Sumiko Sprague of Knotty Little Plants. Sumiko shares her love of plants and why she thinks we all need them. She tells us about her favorite plant varieties and which ones are best for those who think they don’t have a green thumb.

We also talk to Sumiko about her new business venture, Knotty Little Plants. She has created the most stylish, and ingenious, macrame plant hangers. Not only do they come in an array of fun colors to choose from, she has mini hangers that are perfect for plant propagation jars. So cute! Plus, she makes double hangers which allow you to hang one plant on top and a propagation jar underneath. As you water the top plant, it drips down to the plant below, therefore watering two plants at once! Genius!!

Sumiko’s Soul Style Discovery of the Week: The Philodendron Birkin plant. She loves it for its beautiful, variegated leaves and vibrant color. When first developed it was very expensive, hence the name Birkin after the very expensive and popular Birkin handbag. Sumiko says she was reluctant of the hype at first, but after owning one, it has become one of her favorites. The price is now way more affordable as well.

You can purchase her macrame hangers on her Etsy site and follow her on Facebook where she will post live sales and her schedule of upcoming craft shows.
