Episode 7 - Soul Style Your Workspace

Show Notes:

  1. Think outside the box when space is limited. Carve out an area for a workspace using a console table behind a sofa; add shelves and desk to cleaned out closet; attach wheels to a Kallax shelving unit to create a moving privacy wall with storage.

  2. Set yourself up for success the next day by having a system for putting things away at the end of the day. Don’t let your workspace take over your day-to-day life. Especially if working from the dining table!

  3. Make sure all supplies needed are handy and within reach. Use baskets or caddies for each person in the family that can brought out and put away easily. Don’t buy more than you need, make a list and stick to it. Hide ugly office equipment (I’m looking at you shredder) by placing in a lidded basket. Cut a hole in the back for the cord. Office supplies can be stylish too! Check out our Soul Style Discovery of the week See Jane Work for some awesome office eye candy!

  4. Create a family calendar so everyone is on the same page with work and school schedules. Being organized will keep everyone on track and keep your work and school from taking over your entire house.

  5. Proper lighting is key for Zoom calls and online school. Make sure you have a clean, presentable background. Better yet, download our virtual backgrounds so you can Zoom in style. All you need to do is subscribe to our website and moments later you will receive an email with 10 backgrounds you can download. You could be in a different location every day of the week!
